What is an infrared sauna blanket?
An infrared sauna blanket, also called an infrared blanket or sauna blanket, looks like a large sleeping bag. Heating wires in its layers give off far infrared. You lie inside with your head out, and the warmth comes from above and below. After about 20 to 30 minutes you start to sweat, just like in a sauna. All you need is a plug socket and space on your bed or sofa. Afterwards you fold the blanket up and put it away.

A storage bag was included as well. I'm really happy.
Really happy with this sauna blanket! It gets really warm, you sweat a lot, just like in a real sauna. I always feel better afterwards. It also heats up quickly, which is really nice. I'd have liked it a little longer, but that's really not a problem, it just works great.

Keep the inside clean with the inner liner
You place the inner liner in your sauna blanket before you lie down in it. It absorbs sweat and skin oils, so the inside of your blanket stays clean and fresh. After use, take it out and put it in the wash.

What to look for in a sauna blanket
A sauna blanket looks like a large sleeping bag. The walls contain heating wires that give off far infrared. You lie inside with your head out. The warmth comes from above and below, so your whole body warms up evenly. Five things matter when choosing one.
1. Fabric: Oxford or PU leather
The Slimline 100 and the Comfort 150 have an outer layer of waterproof Oxford. It is light, strong and easy to fold. The Comfort 150 has an improved fabric, a sturdier zip and finer controls. The Deluxe 310 is made of waterproof PU leather. It feels sturdier, weighs more (approx. 8 kg) and you wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
2. Temperature and timer
All three go up to 80 °C. The Slimline 100 and Deluxe 310 start at 30 °C, the Comfort 150 at 35 °C. The Deluxe 310 has six fixed settings of about 30, 45, 55, 65, 75 and 80 °C. With the timer you set how long the blanket stays on, up to a maximum of 60 minutes. After that it switches itself off.
3. Size
All three are about 180 x 80 cm. The Deluxe 310 suits a body length of up to about 2.0 m and 140 kg.

5. Safety

How to use a sauna blanket
- Lay the blanket flat on your bed or sofa and choose the setting and time.
- Wear thin cotton clothing or place an inner liner or towel inside the blanket.
- Start on a middle setting and keep the first sessions to 20 to 30 minutes.
- Drink a glass of water before and after the session.
- After use, leave the blanket open until it is dry and cooled down.

Sauna blanket or heated blanket?

Questions about sauna blankets
How much power does a sauna blanket use?
The Slimline 100 and Comfort 150 are 500 W, the Deluxe 310 is 560 W. A 30 minute session uses at most about 0.25 to 0.28 kWh. At 30 cents per kWh that is about 8 cents.
What do you wear in a sauna blanket?
Thin, breathable cotton clothing, such as a T shirt and shorts. That is more hygienic and nicer for your skin. You can also place an inner liner or towel inside the blanket.
How long and how warm should you use it the first time?
Start on a middle setting and keep the first sessions to 20 to 30 minutes. If it feels good, you can slowly increase the time or temperature. The timer goes up to a maximum of 60 minutes.
What is the difference between the three models?
The Slimline 100 is light and made of Oxford. The Comfort 150 gives the same warmth with an improved fabric, a sturdier zip and finer controls. The Deluxe 310 is made of PU leather, has 560 W and six fixed settings, and suits people up to about 2.0 m and 140 kg.
How do you clean a sauna blanket?
Let the blanket cool down and wipe the inside with a damp cloth. Then leave it open until it is dry. With an inner liner the inside stays cleaner, because the liner can go in the wash.

Yes. All Luxyor sauna blankets have overheat protection and an automatic shut off, and are CE marked. We advise against use during pregnancy. If you have a medical condition, check with your doctor first.
